Graduate Marine Engineering

The GME (Graduate Marine Engineering) course is a 1-year residential program approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Govt. of India. It is designed for engineering graduates aspiring to become marine engineers aboard merchant vessels.


✅ Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Marine / Naval Architecture from a recognized university.

  • Some institutes accept diploma holders with relevant experience.

Age Limit:

  • Typically 17–25 years (varies by institute).

Medical Fitness:

  • Must meet DGS physical and eyesight standards.

  • No color blindness or hearing issues.

Entrance Exams:

  • IMU CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) or institute-specific merit list.
